Opponent Types

Check out our character cards. Each player is designed around a specific type of player. You can explore their strengths, weaknesses and top tips on how to beat them.

  • First Serve Sam

First Serve Sam is a player with a powerful first serve but inconsistent overall play. To succeed against this opponent, focus on neutralizing their serve and taking advantage of their weaknesses.

  • Victor the Volleyer

These players love coming to the net and will rush forward whenever they can. They won’t give you a steady rhythm—expect quick points and constant pressure. If you don’t adjust, you may feel rushed and start making errors.

  • Deceptive Dan

Deceptive Dan may not look like a tough opponent at first, but don’t be fooled. These players are consistent, mentally strong, and tough competitors. They keep making balls and force you to beat them.

  • Patient Penny

A disciplined, consistent, and strategic player who will keep the ball in play and force you to work for every point. This opponent doesn’t take big risks but plays with great patience, using smart shot placement and consistency to wear opponents down.

  • Backhand Bella

It is Bella’s strongest and safest shot. She will set up points to hit as many backhands as possible and may even move across the court to avoid using her forehand. Your job is to spot her patterns, create space, and find ways to attack her weaker areas.

  • Underestimated Oskar

The strokes may not be perfect, and their shots might seem awkward. But don’t be fooled, they make very few mistakes and return balls in unpredictable ways. To underestimate them can lead to frustration, mistakes, and even a surprising loss.
